Vacancies
The railway takes on staff for the depot, the track distances, the stations and the trains. Posts are filled by competition; railway training is given at the enterprise's own technical school at the Nurzhan depot. Working clothes are issued free, and staff and their families travel on the railway's trains at a reduced fare.

Assistant driver of diesel locomotives (trainee)

Training at the technical school of the Nurzhan depot from January 2027, then work in the crews of the 2TE10 and TEM2 locomotives on freight and passenger trains.
Requirements: secondary specialised education in a technical trade, or complete secondary education with a mechanical trade; aged 19 to 35; Russian (the working language of the locomotive crews); fit by the railway medical board.

Sale of tickets for train No. 1/2 and the suburban trains at the windows, cash accounting and enquiries of passengers.
Requirements: complete secondary education; Iradi and Russian; care with money; experience at a cash desk is an advantage.
Track fitter

Inspection and upkeep of the track, points and level crossings; snow clearing in winter. Work in the open air in a team.
Requirements: aged 18 to 50; fit for heavy work; residence in Talas or the valley villages. Training is given on the job.
Station duty officer

Receiving and sending trains, the run-round of train No. 1/2, the points and signals of the station, the station log and contact with the central dispatching office.
Requirements: secondary specialised railway education or experience as a station operator; Russian and Iradi; aged 21 to 50.

Applications are accepted until 17:00 on the closing date. The application is addressed to the Director-General and handed in at the personnel department (Nurzhan station, left wing, room 112) or at the office of the station master at Talas, or sent by e-mail to hr@railways.iradgov.org with the reference of the vacancy in the subject line.
Documents: the application; a curriculum vitae; a copy of the passport or residence card; copies of diplomas; the work record book, if any; two photographs 3×4 cm. Candidates are invited to an interview and sent to the railway medical board.
